i put on a set of gsr rear brakes on my civic and now the ebrake seems to be a lot harder to pull which i somewhat expected but i was just woundering if it was normal to be alot harder to pull than with the stock brakes on my car?
how are the cables supposed to fit in the civic because right behind the handle you have a bracket that bolts to the floor and the cables run through it and the solid metal part of the cable is suposed to sit in there and i couldnt get it to pull forward enough to sit in there, and then on the outside the cable was hard to get onto the caliper itself which i didnt expect it to be easy but i dont know if its too short or something since it doesnt sit right on the inside of the car, the adjuster on the back of the ebrake handle is adjusted all the way back as far as it can go. could it be that its too short or that i just need to really tug on it on the inside to get it pulled in enough?

the ebrake does work though when i pull it and it doesnt stay closed when i release it to drive so i dont see how it could be to short, i figured if it was it would hold the brakes closed while i drive...

 

i swapped that ebrake cable on my car when i did the brake swap. i believe your supposed to swap that since the integra one is a little longer. the stock civic brakes were drum brakes and if i remember right the bracket for the ebrake was in a different location and therefore making it a little too short. maybe im wrong but all i know is i swapped mine for the integra one and never had a problem, it was just like stock.

You'll need the Integra e-brake cable. It is longer.

 

swapped the lines, they were sold to me as integra lines and they are on there and working right now jsut woundering if i have the wrong ones, they just LOOK to be an inch too short on the interior of he car

 

i also have a problem with the brake pedal being kinda soft and not really feeling stiff unti the peal is pressed about half way down. i used my stock civic EX m/c and brake booster and i put a 40/40 prop valve on there and SS braided brakelines...i have bled them numerous times but it still feels kinda soft at th pedal, the brakes do work though

 

you need to swap that m/c as well. the stock civic ex one i believe is only a 3/8th or 3/4 cylinder. the integra is a 1 inch cylinder and can put out more pressure to the rear lines. i never swapped the prop valve on my car. and my shit stopped like a champ. i also had stainless lines. drilled/slotted rotors with hawk pads,pedal never felt sloppy.

 

i did the gsr brake swap on my old 92 cx as well. i did not change out the m/c, b/b, or p/v. i just took it up to the honda dealership and had them bleed my brakes with their system and never had any issues with the brakes being soft...

 

quite possibly he didnt bleed the brakes correctly.

are you bleeding the brakes in the correct order ? from right rear. to left rear. right front, to left front. and what method are you using to bleed them ?.

 

i read in the manual that i have the you bleed the right rear then the leftfront then the left rear and then the right front....i have the m/c and brake booster but the one side of the m/c takes a bigger fitting than any brake line on my car so i couldnt hook it up, also i heard i could use an older civic m/c that is 15/16 and it would be better than what i have and it would bolt right up like my stock one...would anybody be intrested in maybe coming and taking a look at it and tryin to help me trouble shoot this because i sorta have doubts about the ebrake cable and all too, i dont have LOTS of $$ to pay you but i mean you name a decent price and im sure i could hook you up for your help cuz im kinda lost on this

 

bled them some more and still doing the same thing "/...i need some help lol
