I went up to gold's gym chesapeake last monday and got a one week trial from melissa the asst manager. She showed me around and was real nice. I went up there 3 times that week and on the day it was supposed to expire i went up there to speak to her. She said go ahead and work out i'll hold your keys, let you work out, think about it and let me know if you want to sign up. So me and my brother went and worked out. Then went to talk to melissa about signing up. She told us we had to sign up for a whole year or pay a nonrefundable 150 to join and 35 from month to month. So we were like wow well we are going to shop around and maybe we'll come back. We really like your gym but it seems a bit pricy. So she keeps like trying to make us sign up right then saying things like "whats there to think about dont you think you should work out everyday for the rest of your life whats a one year commitment." so eventually we get her to hand us back our keys so we can leave and this BITCH has the nerve to say waste of my time under her breath. Talk about shitty customer service. She made up my mind right there about signing up.

 

That happened to me one time at a car dealer on buying a new car. I got so mad and I am not a hot tempered person but when he said that I stood up and started yelling at him in front of everyone. Shit was not funny. I was ready to fight that ass hole.

 

it's not like i couldn't afford it i just wasn't happy with the plans they where offering and the conditions. i was seriously thinking about joining but that bitch blew it, i just said fuck it yesterday and joined the y on a family plan which ended up being much cheaper.

 

i heard about a place on cedar rd man. like fitness 19 or something. i heard its a really good gym and its pretty cheap
i have a membership at that golds i know exactly who youre talking about. shes the nicer one too. and that sucks. for the most part all the ppl that work there are dicks and snotty bitches. the only reason i went there is because when i first signed up i used to work at the regal connected to it and i didnt have to pay any joining fee or anything because i worked there, it was a good deal but i wouldnt pay the almost $300 rate plus $99 a month. no way in hell

 

I dunno who lied to you but it is nowhere near $99 a month.

Sucks about your issue with Melissa, shes generally very nice along with the rest of the staff(never seen them act stuck up/snotty) and I guess you just caught her on a bad day.

 

I had the guy in the wheel chair (at the chesapeake gold's gym), when i told him I was a college student, he waived the join fee.

But I guess your situation sucks. I really like golds, especially the new one in Norfolk.

 

melissa has always been nice to me and so has ashley. ive just seen them get really shitty with one of my friends i brought with me on one of those week guest passes and some ppl. they arent professional when it comes to certain things i guess you could say. and i dont know what his name is but one guy is hyper as hell like hes running around on cocaine or something is rude sometimes as well
the brochure i got when i signed up said the student rate is 36.99 a month and the regular is $99 a month
