Gst turbo problem
Gst turbo problem
OK. I just purchased a gst. stock. When i get on the gas the turbo spins up, the car starts to stutter.... almost like there is not enough fuel or something. I am thinking possibly injectors need to be replaced. Someone told be maybe the mass air flow sensor was the problem. any ideas?
Could be your maf, vacuum leak or boost leak
If it only starts to stutter when you get on it and it starts making boost then its probably a boost leak

there is really alot of shit i could be. i know if you turn the turbo up to much they have a fuel cut out but its nothing like your talking about. if you think about it everything on that car is around or over 10 years old....how does it idel.....im pretty sure that if it was the MAF it would idel really bad. it would start around 1k and keep bouncing up to 2 or 3 k over and over again
actually, most everything on the car has been replaced within the last 10,000 miles with the exception of the turbo and timing belt. car has 165k on the chasis. it idols perfectly fine, no noise from the engine. which is why i did not think that it was the maf. It does reach full boost so long as you don't floor it... hard problem to really explain i guess.
do you have the stock boost gauge. also i would recommend getting a new timing belt because if it breaks you might as well throw that motor out.....or shell out a ass ton to fix it
maybe the person that had it before you had mods on it and took them off....one of those mods could be a manual BC and you could be leaning your car out. with a turbo car a digital air to fuel ratio is a must
Boost leak, dirty fuel filter, ecu. I had a situation very similar to your and I tried everything(boost leak tested, new fuel filter, new coil packs,). One day I popped in my friends spare ECU and it ran perfect
