Height-adjustment threads on coilovers seized
I want to lower my car a bit in the rear to even out the height, but I can't because the coilovers are stuck. I've tried spraying some PB Blast (which is what I usually use to un-stick seized threads), but that didn't help. Any idea what I can do, or are they stuck for good? I don't want to damage such an expensive part...
No, it was up on jackstands, wheels removed. They're about seven months old. I was surprised to see them seize too, but I used to live in denver where road conditions are extremely dry and dirty...so maybe that has something to do with it. What's really odd though is that the front ones adjust fine.
be patient, spray them once a day for a few days then try to crack them loose.if that doesn't work heat them a little with a torch. hope this helps. gl
put a good strap wrench on it and it should help u. i had the same problem with the same coil overs. i got one like this from ace hardware but you can find them at home depot and lowes im sure. the rubber ones dont last long but will work.
by the way they run about $26 to $30 but have a much better strap and it doesnt damage the threads.

this is what i would do, if not pull them back out and place them in a vice and try to loosen them up and once loose use antiseize on threads so this wouldn't happen again, i put antiseize on mine when i first put them on.
