Default need help 2002 lexus es300!!!!!!!!

Well a way for me to get funded for my motor i offered to fix my sisters car and have it thrown on my tab at work. However i am pretty clue less to what it is.

First off the car has about 156,000 from driving to and from washington state, but as of lately the car has started to smoke on start up,slight rattle in the exhaust and after a bit of time the exhaust manfold turns bright red.
Ive been thinking its the cat-converter being clogged or causing it to run to rich, then i found out the front o2 sensor has been replaced.

So here are the symptoms

lot of smoke on start up
stumble and misses
exhaust manifold gets verry verrrrrry hot

any ideas, first and for most it uses coil packs not a distributor,so the fireing order is correct.
There is tape on the intake hose from there being a leak, uses a maf.

Im going to start with spark plugs and check continuity through-out the ignition coils.

But what could cause the exhaust to act up like that???????

Any help is appreciated.

white/blue smoke
car does not over heat, and cooliant does not leak, also passed a pressure test.

May be valve stems cause once its warmed up no smoke, just stumbples and hesitates.
