Red car passed inspection... it's really street legal now!
Not quite newsworthy unless you've seen it stealthily cruising around the Central area. It's a replica car that was hand built, #2 of 38 and arrived in Virginia illegal as a mexican hopping out of a uHaul.
Took quite a while to get everything legal on it, and it passed state inspection this morning. Took many, many, many meetings with the safety guys that write the laws and regulations at State Popo HQ, a few calls to state legislatures to get a bill passed (no catalytic converters), and some interesting engineering for a windshield wiper that mounts temporarily to the top of the windshield frame. Oh, and I don't need a front license plate.
Got balls? Hell yeah. It's parked right outside the office window of the safety guy at State Police HQ who said it would never be street legal.
Be on the lookout for this now street legal car at shows and meets this year! Terry and Kevin, we need to do a photoshoot sometime soon!

(oh, and I heard that inspection prices went up $1 this year)
