Recently got a 99 bmw 540i, looking into autox. what should the priority list of mods be if i wanted to do autox?

wheels/tires
suspension
???

 

Brakes (pads, fluid, rotors if the stock ones are worn).

Other than that, just make sure everything is in good working condition and have fun. Worry about other upgrades once you get a feel for everything.

 

Don't worry about modding the car until you're comfortable behind the wheel. I'd do a couple events before I worried about upgrading anything.

 

Yea this is down-the-road stuff, I don't plan on going out and buying up everything tomorrow I wanna do a few autox runs this summer and maybe mod it for performance late summer/winter

I just had the brakes replaced when I bought the car, so i think I'm okay with that.

What about front/rear tower brace? Will it be a noticeable difference?

like the others said. modify YOU first. drive the car till you cant go faster THEN mod.

i'd say tires then if your running normal street tires now.

 

like i said, i plan on getting wheels/tires soonish, and the rest can wait until late summer. I'm going to autox and get better at it, what I'm trying to do it just get an idea of what i should be upgrading to and how much i should be saving for.

 

It all depends on what class you intend to run in.
