Default Custom exhaust Q

I wonna buy a muffler from online (probably megan racing, or skunk2) and go to Big Al's and have them make some 2 1/4 piping and put it on my car. Now does the inlet size of the muffler have to be the same diameter as the piping diameter i plan to get? most mufflers Skunk2 and MR make have 2 1/2 inlets and if i have to get 2 1/2 piping thats too big for a small displacement, N/A engine. im assuming it does because it wouldn't make sense if they were different sizes but i wonna make sure.

You don't want Big Al's exhaust piping anyway, it's probably crushed bent and cheap(won't last) so if you can, buy a complete cat back set up. If the piping is 2.25" and the intake on the muffler is 2.50" you/they can use a step up pipe from 2.25" to 2.5" to match it up.

Shoot varocktoy a pm. He does custom exhaust work using mandrel bends for a decent price. Or, if you have access to a welder and a chop saw, you can fab something up yourself.

I have a question. If he has access to a welder and a chop saw and a grinder, where can he pick the piping up at, and wouldn't it just be cheaper all around to get someone else to do it?

i originally had a skunk2 cat back system but it was loud, ugly and obnoxious. so i bought an exhaust kit from here, http://www.kteller.biz/prodtype.asp?...ageHistory=cat

it came in pieces and i took it to big al's to weld together. they did a great job for a decent price.

i'm thoroughly please with my exhaust set up. 2.5 straight through and looks stock. and in the end cost me about the same as a bolt on system.

Racing Solutions This is a company I have done some business with. They have good prices as well as fast shipping.

In general, you should be able to find piping to fit your needs from any company advertising mandrel bends.
