I have not had much in VA, but Domo's on Granby in downtown Norfolk is very good. The only other places I have eaten were on the West coast, and Domo's is on par with them, and I know it is difficult to match the West coasts sushi.

Theres a place on holland road across from the kmart in the same shopping center as the 7-11 i cant think of the name off hand but they have some of the better sushi i have had in this area.
