Default Thinking about dropping Comcast, any other alternatives?

I'm getting sick of my horrible experience with Comcast internet service. It's slow, erratic, and their customer service sucks ass.

I know there are a few other high speed internet services out there but I'm not really familiar with them. Anyone on here have any good experiences they can share? Please include monthly prices, installation, etc.

I thought COX was the only service around here? Everything you said that sucks about comcast sucks about COX too. I think that's what happens when there is a "monopoly" on a service such as.

Latency is too slow for gaming, but it'll kick ass in large file downloads.

Im pretty happy with my Verzon home and cell phone services. So I'm thinking about checking out their DSL service. It's almost half the price of Comcast cable internet so it doesn't hurt to try. I'm not really looking for speed b/c I dont play computer games. I just want decently fast and reliable service.
