Default insurance question

Ok im about to buy my first bike and I called about insurance and it did not sound right to me. Im 26 with no tickets and I got a quote and state farm. They told me on a 2006 GSX 600 Im looking at $42 a month for full coverage. Im thinking of getting a 750 or 1000 instead. I know that the 750 and 1000 will be more than that a month but does that quote sound right. It sounds kinda low to me. I thought it would be way more than that.

That sounds about right for you. I'm 21 and paying about $42 a month full coverage on my 04 R6 through state farm.

Dont base the motor size of your first bike off of your insurance premium--start off on something BELOW a 750 or you might end up as a statistic.

for your record and having state farm that sounds about right but make sure you told the gsxR 600 and not gsx 600. Double or triple check with them to make sure thats right because when I was getting quotes they almost gave me the wrong quote. I have actually heard of it happening and there most likely is a bit of a insurance difference between both bikes.

BTW don't start out on anything bigger than a 600 for a first bike because like Armenian said you have a much higher chance of becoming a statistic. Getting a new bike can be a waste with depreciation and the really high odds that you're going to drop it or mess it up. A lot better to get an older bike to learn and make mistakes on before buying a new bike

BTW get something besides a gsxr600 because everyone and their girlfriend and baby momma have one already. J/K

I have had 4 600's and dont see that I would need a 1k other than the fact that a bigger bike might fit my big body better!
