i finally got my build put back togather, everything is brand new oil pump,water pump etc... but im right around 400 miles and now my oil light came on and wont go off, but there plenty of oil in it?????? what could it be, i dont want to start my car until this is solved i dont want $3,000 goin down the drain

 

Oil pressure switch(sending unit) ???

 

i just pulled the switch off, nothin looks wrong, sending unit in oil pan???

 

You built a motor and don't know where the oil pressure sending unit is? It is the 1 wire sensor above your oil filter.

 

i replaced the pressure switch and oil light still comes on, wtf is goin on

 

try resetting the light. and then see if it comes back on. the light normaly comes on when the oil needs to be changed or if you are losing oil how ever sence you said the oil was fine you should go with the reset idea next.

 

Did you prime the system since there was a new oil pump installed?

 

are you sure theres oil pressure? do you have a gauge?

 

it looks like nothing wrong with it but just unplug your batteries for 10 minutes.it should turn off the light,

 

what exactly possessed you to say that??
