Default 12-13 second s14

hey guys, im looking to buy a 1997-98 nissan 240sx. I have around $15,000. Im looking to do an engine swap with the ever popular sr20det. I want to run 12- 13 second 1/4 miles, 13 second would be awesome and probably cheaper so that's what i really want unless 12 seconds isn't to expensive. Well im looking for parts and part numbers and prices. Please help me out. Also does anyone know where i can some of those Advan three spoke rims. i think there called super advan, but from what ive seen there like $515 a piece. Ya RIght. Any help would be appreciated. THANKS

hmm if you want high 12s and a clean car with $15,000 i'd get like a 95 s14, get your sr20 and do a bottom end build-up, tubular manifold, 2.5" i/c piping, fmic, more efficient turbo, 3" exhaust, then spend the rest on electronics and making the car look nice. with a built bottom end sr20 you'd be more than capable of doing high 12s probably without too much tuning, as long as you got a turbo matched with what you want to do. and at the same time you could have a nice looking, good riding, classy car.

try srswap.com (like goth said)
www.nissaninfiniticlub.com
and look up afterdark motorsports (i think thats what its called)

there are a few sr20 gurus on the board that probably wouldnt mind helping if you got some real technical questions.

edit: bottom end build might be out of your budget unless you get your s14 for like $3,000 and the sr20 will hold up past high 12s anyways. skip the buildup

hey i couldn't find that afterdark motorsports website. but thanks for the help. im gonna be happy with 13 sec. 1/4 miles if i can get to it.can i get to it with the stock Ka engines. ive seen them turbo'd and they have like 200-300hp with other parts. i dont know which is better.i'll probably go with the sr20det because it is a more popular build.

freshalloy.com
zilvia.net

check the forums.

these are two sites very well known for their 240sx info. hint: use the search before asking a question; they will crucify you mercilessly if you ask a newbie question that comes up every other day that's been answered a million times.

watch out for asad, this one time, this kid asked about stock s13 offset, and asad busted his ass, and the kid cried

no joke

ps plz use your 240 for more than straightline stuff =) i mean if that's all you want to do it's all good, but it can turn pretty good too.

Keep the KA24 and just turbo it. All that money spent on the swap could be spent on a good turbo/exhaust/ecu.

My 1998 240SX SE 5spd is for sale. HKS exhaust, Cold air intake, short shifter, springs, sound system, tint, ect...asking $13,5000...want it??? There were only about 2,000 240's made in '98 and only 1/3 of them were 5spds. It took me 4 months to find the car, and I had to drive 12 hours to get to it.

i think i'll continue looking, i dont want a car that's been raced, i want to be the one to break it in. But ya man, i plan on drifting like no one else, i just want the straight line racing to woop all the wannabe ricers and domestics. Is the Ka build up really worth it. How much hp can the engine handle.

Who said anything about building it. No need for that if all you want is 13's. 12's should be doable with the 300whp a KA can make. Ask "Greaser" on the forum. Maybe he will help you.
