I recently came across a place in another state that chromes plastic. I have seen their work, but don't understand how they are doing it. Anyone have a clue how you chrome plastic?

 

Vapor deposition I think..
They sputter coat aluminum on the plastic after they build a static charge on it if I remember.. There are actually a few ways to do it I think. THe way I'm familiar with is similar to how they put reflective coatings on sunglasses and heads up displays..
