Default Subaru SVX

Anyone have a decent understanding of the potential for these cars? Problems?

I am debating on a project car to begin on. I always choose vehicles that are not the norm and try and put a little creativity into it.

I looked into getting one a long time ago and from what Ive read its heavy, expensive to repair and theres not a supporting aftermarket. But that could be different now. Do some research i guess.

What an unusual car? Get a Volvo and then go here:

Too bad, the SVX is a really unique car. You hardly ever see them around, and they're pretty neat looking.

Yea precisely the reason I was interested...it's a pretty cool looking car.

I'll research somemore, but that seems to be the consensus from a lot of people.

You want unusual, but you're going with the consensus? Go Volvo.

There's actually quite a few SVXs around me here in Colorado, I see a few every day. There's a yellow one I see around here that my friend says has a twin turbo setup on it, I've been trying to catch him out somewhere so I can ask him about it. Supposedly it's pretty brutal.

Too bad they're all automatics. I've thought it would be cool do a tranny swap..
But I thought it would be cooler to get a Tribeca and do a turbo setup and tranny swap on that instead. Someday when I have time and money I'll do all kinds of stuff I bullshit about..

You can convert them. I've seen a couple of manual ones for sale online, but I've only seen one in person.
