Will a XX shot of nitrous get you the same XXhp at the wheels.
THis is a discussion i'm having on the porsche boards and i just need some clarification.
P-car driver X tells me that a 50 shot (or what have you) actually equates to the number of horses it delivers so the wheels not to the crank.
I will concede if i'm wrogn but can some one please tell me where the shot is actually measured from.

It depends on who's selling the kit and how it's setup. Some vendors rate their "shots" in terms of crank hp and others rwhp... so you're both right.
most shots ive seen on fbodys are rated for whp, but thats mostly zex. so id have to say it would depend on the quality of the kit bought.
My buddy is running a 100 shot on his LS1. On the motor he put down 360 and on the spray he put down 440 so he got 80whp out of a 100 shot. But really each kit is different so like what has been said all ready, you are both right.
yea i heard that NX is rated at the wheels and is sometimes even slightly underrated. I read somewhere a guy did a 50 shot and gained 55 at the wheels. all depends on the kit.
If you bolt on a "50 shot" kit, do you really think it will give you EXACTLY 50HP? Will you feel ripped off if you only gain 49 HP? What about during your second or third run when the bottle pressure drops because of a decrease in temp?
Crank vs. wheel HP depends on the manufacturer, but the kits are only estimated HP out of the box anyway. If you bolt on a "50 shot" kit on one engine it will give different results than a different brand or family engine, or one with different mods. You can't magically create exactly the same HP engine to engine..
