Recommend a good wheel shop to work on my Volk GT-7's.
Basically, I destroyed the lips on my GT-7's by using a wheel cleaner that contained a form of acid.
Now all 4 wheels have stains where the wheel cleaner ate the clear coat and no polish will remove them. Can someone recommend a good shop to get these worked on? I want good work but don't want to get raped on the cost.
I know the whole "you get what you pay for" saying so don't bother.

talk to doingok...charles barker did the same to his wheels...they had to buy him new ones. Not sure if it was cuz it was cheaper, but I'd ask. I don't see how though. I would imagine you could sand down and repolish the lips...U could pm vr4-ever about polishing stuff
Did it really just eat the clear off? Or did it stain down to to the metal itself. Take some pics. The only problem clearing the rims again is when you go to get your tires changed again. If the it's cleared to the far edge where they pry on to get the tire's off you can bet your ass it's gonna come off.

It stained down to the metal. They are very oxidized also. I'm thinking about buying one of the kits from here to give it a shot:

damn Randy sorry to hear about that. it was a pain in the ass to get my old volk gt-u's repolished. In all honesty i dont think there is any shop locally that can polish your wheels and make them look like when u first got them. Rays Engineering prolly has the best polished mult-piece wheels out there, just because all their lips are so high polished they look chrome. thats the main reason y i sold my gt-u's cuz they will never look like they used to. Get some new wheels!! lol nah that polishing kit might be a good idea.
yikes... what did you use that ate away at your volks? I'll steer clear of that stuff.
I don't have time to take those wheels apart and polish them for you, but thanks for the free plug Bobby. =)

Yea they are definitely "show wheels". They never shined like new and only got worse. I found a good polishing kit online that I'm ordering. Hopefully that will bring them back.
