ive just bought a 94 tercel 2d,blown motor, off a frend for cheap (as a rainy day car) and i though it would be fun to swap the 2.2 from a celica/ camry into it. does anyone have any knowledge on this subject? can it be done? i figured i would have to do engine and tranny... but what else if its even possible? thanks for your help in advance

 

never heard of it being done, dont really see the point in doing it either...but if ya got the money and the time, go for it - whatever makes you happy

get the chiltons manual for the car and get one for a 2.2L celica and look at the wiring diagrams and where the motor mounts are located. you might be able to find it online, dunno.

 

i thought there was a guy w/ a green tercel with that swap done already? down here in the chesapeake area.

 

If you're talking about the light green one with the aluminum wing.....the answer is NO! That guy's a trip though.

 

guy with the dreds? i used to see him cleaning his car off kempsville all the damn time.

 

the proper swap for that particular Tercel would be a 4EFTE which is a EPStarlet turbo engine. i think i remember it being 190 out of the box... as for those other swaps...it's not worth it.
the geek
