Local S2000/Ferrari F40 owners dicsussion thread
Got my inspection the other day and the inspector told me that my right front tire was wearing on the inside and my rear brake pads were about worn out. Looks like reason to upgrade to me
What are some good street pads for the s2000? I've ran Hawk HP+ in both my mustang and my Miata, and while I loved the braking feel and the bite, they dusted like a sonofabitch, and I really don't need something that squeaky in the cold or that dusty on the street. I'd like lower dust and a lower ideal temp for the pads, but still a little better than stock.
Gonna order my wheels/tires soon probably from tirerack so they're already mounted, get some springs and a rear bump steer kit and have Knoop get my fenders right so I can stuff 255 RS3's under all 4 corners.

255s all around is such a proper setup for an S2000. If the wheel is a 9", and has an offset with anything below +40, you're gonna need a full flare, not just a roll and pull.
I was able to get away with a few different 255 square setups on my old S with just a slight pull, along with front camber maxed to -2.5. One setup was a 9 +45 Advan RS with 255 RE11s, and another was a 9.5" +47 CE28 with a 255 A048 (an extremely wide 255).

Better drag Radd out too, and me!

On the F40 I run a full carbon ceramic pad, the big ass steel rotors love that shit
Yeah, I'll get an alignment once I get springs/wheels/tires/rear bumpsteer kit. I'll see what Keinan reccomends and what I can find on one of the track crew threads on S2ki and get what I can out of stock stuff.
Depending on ride height, you're looking for at least -2.5 camber all around. Max caster, usually no less than 6. And zero toe up front. Toe in on the rear, but the amount comes down to personal preference. Some people really like zero toe out back, but that makes for an exciting rear end.
Shawn if you decide you want HP+ pads, let me know. I've got a set I'll sell you really cheap. I bought them with the intention of doing DEs in my car, but then bought a Miata instead.
I replaced all 4 pads two weeks ago. Having done a lot of research on it, the overwhelming consensus is that factory pads are best for street AND track on the s2000. Studies and everything. Check around s2ki, you'll find the same.
I have never seen a serious track guy use OEM pads on track.
They are awesome street pads, though. I prefer AP1 front pads over AP2 because they dust A LOT less. The AP1 and AP2 share the same rear pads.

I have read good things about the EBC Yellows though.
