replacing spark plugs from an SLR mclaren...

And GM seems to be doing just fine with a wedge design and pushrods.

Sure GM is doing fine, but alot of things could be better. They just arent effiecent as hemi/pent-roof design on hondas and toyotas and others. Power per sq inch in other words.

There is a reason why Top fuel and all other drag cars in the 5's and below uses hemi/pent design and not wedge.
Do not get me wrong, the wedge can make lots of power, just not as efficiently as the hemi/pent.
And the Hemi/pent stands out much more when boost is in the equation.
yea I agree the technology is cool I think it really just comes down to manufacturing cost why everyone doesn't jump on that bandwagon. But the bottom line is a hemi equipped turd is still a turd

I think what alot of people dont realize is that GM had the ability to make a OHC motor, and it would have come after the Gen II smallblock instead of the LS1, but the powertrain engineers said no, lets just keep with what we have; a good old fashioned "low tech" pushrod motor, 2 valves per cylinder, with a wedge shaped design.
Besides, GM is doing the Pent roof/hemi thing. The Ecotec motor is an AMAZING motor from GM. They just dont want to put in the cost effort to change over their bread and butter smallblock to a Hemi/Pent Roof design mainly because of design/manufacturing costs, especially when it is working fairly well for them now.

400whp doesnt really amaze me out of 5.7 liters sorry. What does amaze me is 260 out of a all motor 2.0 liter with better gas mileage than any other v8 i have every seen or read about. But hey i understand where you are coming from. I am a fan of the Chevy small block and crate motors, because of the ease of it and simplicity.
