LONGSHOTS PRESENTS - "FRIDAY ON THE STRIP"
there's a million arguements in the cold air/hot air thing. Bottom line is cold air helps EVERYONE not just turbo cars. The fact that heat hurts turbo car power worse than all motor is a huge misconception too.
theres a reason teams break speed records on the salt flats in the dead heat of the summer, and not the winter.
if you mean it helps them all go slower, sure. Ok, I'll try this from another corner..think of the individual atoms in air, k. When its hot, there are less of them, when its cold, there are more. for your car to move forward, it has to push those atoms the fuck out of the way, so which do you think is easier? having to move more, or having to move less. The performance/power gained from an intake of denser air to the combustion chamber doesnt compare to the loss in efficacy created by the excess drag(the cold air).

1/4 mile and land speed racing are quitea bit different. The aero advantage of the less dense air is not an issue till 250+ mph. It's been pretty much proven time and again by statistics that cold and denser air makes more power and goes faster in the 1/4 mile. by your logic we should all be going to denver in the summer to race. Ask the guys up there how their cars run compared to cold sea level races and there's your answer.

So keep trying to sound smart, but you really don't know what you're talking about when it comes to drag racing.

youre bringing an entirely different variable into play. And no, what Im actually saying is that it makes no difference, everyone running the same track, about the same time of day, is equal(or beyond minute differences that you cant quantify in 08', thats how small they are).
Holy fucking shit. my Turbo will heat up my air filter enough to keep my engin running great. The cold air will cool off my engine bay enough to keep my engine running great.
now everyone wins!
now everyone wins!
Have you ever raced a boosted car? I have plenty, and no matter how big and heavy those mean old oxygen molecules are in the cool air, my cars always run Much quicker. I've seen 4-5 mph and .5 in ET from a 90* 2000' DA day, to a 60* -500' DA day.
