This is a cool place. Been there several times and they do have rentals.
They will even take the rental price off a gun if you decide to buy one.
You also get range time included with purchase.
They sell targets. Targets mount on tracks so you can move it as far away as you want. Any size hand gun, at one time you could shoot 22 rifles but I think they stopped that.
VCDL(Virginia Citezens Defense League) has had many meetings there and even get discounts for being a member.
There is Roanoke Rifle and Revolver Club. http://www.roanokerifle.com/ You have to be a member to shoot anything but skeet/clays unless you shoot in a competition. I have been shooting in the defensive pistol shoots for about 2 years--it's a blast!!! And keeps you familiar with your weapon.

Well,

I got it in yesterday, cleaned it out real good last night a lubed it up.. Got home today and put a few mag's through it. I really like this gun, happy with my purchase, definitely.. Trigger is nice, not gritty at all, a bit of takeup in SA. It definitely suprised me(kick/loud, had plugs in), having never shot a handgun before, when I shot off the first few rounds, but I got used to it quick.

So far I love it, still wish it had a manual safety tho, im just not used to not having one

Kick in a handgun? Naaa. I have shot a .44 a couple of times, and when I was smaller I thought that was pretty crazy. Shot my dad's Taurus .454 last year and that was crazy. Then I shot a .500 this year. That thing scared the piss out of me and fire shot out of the barrel. 2 hands and it still jumped pretty hard. But its fun.
