I think the GTO is a nice ass car, in fact I would like to have one right now 6.0 400/400, on a 6m dynos around 340-345whp range. Very nice car, onstar, color matching leather, etc. The only problem with them is that they are heavy. I like the looks of them and the power they make. Plus considering there is huge discounts on the GTO and price gouging on the GT, I would definately take the GTO.

And yes the 3v motor is weak as shit. Not to mention the drive-by-wire.

I'd take the GTO over the Mustang easily. What was it, 400 HP from the new LS2 in the 05 models?

I think the C&D review was with the 04' GTO and the base model Mustang, but either way, the GTO beat it in just about everything. Every car forum I go to was flaming the fuck out of C&D for that bullshit 'Gotta Have It!' factor. Granted, the new Mustangs look better than the GTO as far as catching someone's eyes go... but it wouldn't matter to me considering I'm already seeing them everywhere just like the previous models.

If GM dealers have learned anything from last year, people should be able to get some great deals on the GTO's.

I'm not brand loyal and as much as I love my F-body GM just pisses me off. The Vette has always been nice and pretty much improved every generation as well as the F-body (IMO). Then they come out with the GTO. Stout platform, but looks pussy. I mean personally I like the way it looks, but it just doesn't look aggresive to most people that's why they don't want to buy it.

Yup. The look doesn't live up to the name of "GTO." From what I understand, they didn't even design the body. It's australian. Pretty sad when they can't come up with their own design to an AMERICAN car. But then again, Ford had to go back 30 years to get ideas for the new stang.

Did you ever see an original GTO? Did it look sporty at all?

I think the current GTO captures the spirit of the original VERY well.

Yes the GTO was supposed to be your run of the mill looking car, but it's also supposed to capture the essence of old school muscle. To me it doesn't, but you're right.

i never thought about it in that light. youre absolutely correct. It looked like everything out back then and it accomplishes the same today. It may be abit heavy but 400 hp stock is pretty damn sweet.
