That's the point that bothered me and made me feel inclined to post up in here. I'm not a big fan of people who start threads with the sole intent to piss people off. Regardless of if it works or not, I don't think it's called for.

I can't speak for everybody else. I'm sure if his post was "I know a lot of you guys aren't going to like this stuff, but for those that are in to it, check these stretched and poked VWs out", he would have still gotten flamed by a lot of people. Personally, I wouldn't have such a problem with it. Different strokes for different folks. When OP admits that the intent of the thread was to create conflict however, I don't think it should be tolerated.


This point is driven home by the fact that the OP's car is actually a pretty nice looking VW.

Brian (JusDub'n) is still a youngin and still has something to prove but for the most part, the VW peeps are pretty chill. We do our own thing and try not to stir up shit. We do get balls in groups, though!! Let a Honda roll through at a VW meet and peeps get verbal for some reason. (I think it's a male dominance thing... I keep my trap shut cause I'm too fat and lazy to fight).

its not my calling, i wont talk shit, but i wont enjoy alot of the things there im sure.

and yes the OP of this thread, even tho his intentions were ignorant in my eyes, his car does look good. i will not hold back my opinions on a good looking car just because it is a certain brand. and i have told a few other VW owners on this site their cars look good. but the want to start shit makes me look down on the vw crowd a little more, just because of that, it wouldnt surprise me if this thread is linked onto the vw vortex site just so the VW guys can talk shit. but do i care no? because im not the one being completley ignorant.....

 

This was another reason I wanted out of the VW scene. VW people are for the most part, very weird. There's no middle ground with dubbers. They're either extremely strange people (90%), or really really cool(10%). Hanging out with local "dubbers" is the only time I've been genuinely uncomfortable in the car scene. A Honda would drive by and people would get genuinely upset and vocalize that. VW people have a serious agenda against Hondas to the point that many of them are ready to trade blows just because someone has a Honda. And what pains me is that contrary to what VW people think, Honda people don't care at all about VWs.

It's really a strange car scene, and it's a shame. There's actually a lot to like about VWs.

my only thing towards VW's is they always try and race me, and i will talk to them like normal people just like i do domestics i race or other imports. and its always the same story (for the most part)

ME:whats done to it? its a turbo model right?
them: yeah its a 1.8t (i get other responses as far as models go also), but its got a so and so turbo, full exhaust, said BOV, injectors and tuned on something ( i was vague because i dont recall specifics), but its only for looks not to go fast.....
ME: ohh well its nice man see ya

now the question arises why do all that performance oriented shit just to look good. and why try and run me if its for looks....

and i hear from my VW friends that i do have that the same guy i just held that convo with does all that because he wants to be the fastest VW in the area..... wtf?

but its not all VW owners just the ones that rev/Blow off on me....

and at the same time i just get straight dirty looks from other VW's that dont rev or anything just end up on the same street, they look at me like im the anti christ or some shit.
