I thought that the cops will give u the bike back with a cert. of distruction meaning you cant get it titled bc it was totalled or stolen. Then your insurance will pay for new bike. I have bought a few bikes before from people in your situation, they found there bike after it got stolen , sold it to me with with the distruction title and there insurance gave them a check for the bike

 

o idk about all that i honestly dont care what happens to the bike as long as i get my $8700 that he wrote the check for plus the $250 in bank fees and charges i now have
