I've done several autocrosses and one track weekend, plus numerous 1/4 passes, and I feel that they are very well-rounded.

ill agree that the nitto 555's are a good all around tire, but in my opinion they were extremely overrated for dry traction. i had a set on the camaro SS, took them to the track a few times and they still didnt hook well. cornering, maybe, hooking definitely not.

not even kidding i saw the thread title and was going to suggest eagle f1 gs-d3's or bgf kdw

ive driven an SS in the summer with f1's and dear lord it hooked up amazingly. the grip was astonishing.

as for the kdw, ive got them on my car as of now and they are defintiely above average on grip. but im sure the kd would be even better performance with some sacrafice in wet conditions

i loved my kumho mx's. I had some negative camber (no vip or anything), and they still looked fine after 20k miles.

*edit* just found an epinions link, and the guy is driving a wrx.

Its so much better than what they had that they swear up and down its just as good as a racing slick, but lasts longer, and now they have as much driving skill as Kimi in his F1 car.. That's why I don't give much heed to TireRack reviews..

Oh, and the guy that said (paraphrasing, I wish I could find the actual review again) "I have a 350 HP turbo Jetta (or Golf?), and these tires are great. When I launch though, they slip a lot, and they shouldn't because I have a limited slip differential." I shit you not, that guy actually said that. On a national website. I'm really kicking myself for not bookmarking that.

Anyone know rough real-world mileage figures on the MXs?
I had them on my R32 (replaced GSD3) and loved them for what they were. They gripped just fine and were not loud. They had about 20k miles on them when I got rid of the car and they looked to be able to take about 10k more miles. No complaints especially considering I got them for $100/tire from Tire Rack.

Falken Azenis 615s could work too, they're cheap enough that I probably won't mind replacing them often.
I have them on my ITR and my STi currently. They grip wonderfully even under 6500 RPM launches, but are extremely noisy especially at highway speeds. They will wear very quick, but are cheap enough to replace often (10-15k miles MAX). Mine currently have less than 10k miles and are damn near at the wear bar.

Hankook Ventus RS-2? Anyone?
I've never had 'em, but read great reviews on them. Bowlcut had them on his S2000 and was very happy with his purchase.

Brock, what are you doing?

I had a terrible experience with these tires (as did nearly every other R32 owner). They were very susceptible to blisters on the sidewall.

Really? I probably only have 5k miles on mine, but I also have 6-7 Autocrosses, and a track event on them, and I still have plenty of life left.

I sure that I was running more negative camber before you made your current adjustments.
