New Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial review by yours truly
I've been trying to decide what kind of tires to get for some hookup for the track, looks like I may just have to get some of these in 235/60R-15, that should manage to fit my wells. Its hard to find a good drag radial, and when you have a FWD car and can't fit in extremely large tires and have to try to put down decent power in a currently open diff, having the best gripping radial possible matters for getting a decent time without massive wheelspin. The pains of a FWD car......
thats what ive noticed about these tires. i would think that i'd be overpowering a set of 255/50/16 tires that arent heated up at all, but they seem to hook well. my old 245/55/16 Nitto DRs would just light up and cause wheelhop every time I got on it before. The only time I've had wheelhop since I've had these tires is when I raced on a mildly damp road and the tires broke loose for a second.
i think theyd be a good choice for your application

reuter: awesome, thanks. I appreciate someone providing a useful review and helpful information. I'm sure I'll still get wheelspin like this and I doubt I can launch under too much boost, but should be good nuff for some good times till I can afford some sort of diff (Problem with modifying a car like a Volvo: LSD's are expensive. I can either buy one from the UK or from Japan, and both are about $2500, and require a manual transmission swap, which would probably be ~$1500, and the transmission most likely has to be imported from Europe.)

They cut nearly a full 1/10th of my 60 ft's vs. Hoosier QTP's.
Much better highway tire for 100 mile road trips too.
I'll NEVER go back to a QTP or ET Street.

well i'm sold on em...are you running the same size as the hoosiers you were running?
How would you say these compare to the BFG drags? And, ET Streets are availble in 16". Im sure you know that, but others might not.
My 315/30/18" drag radials hook like a BITCH and tread wear is pretty good. Nothing like what you are talking about noticing the tread disappearing and what not
