I have a Blitz and I ordered the Bosal twin tip. I know it's still loud but it's much quieter and it looks more stealthy. At least if my car is loud I don't have to worry about getting a ticket for being catless.

 

so u actually get a ticket for catless? how does the cop know? Just say its differnt for subarus, the cat is hard to see lol. does he look under ur car ?

Some LCPD officers drive Subarus. If the cop for some reason makes him pop the hood and notices that the uppipe has no cat on it and the cop is one of the ones that drives a Subaru, theres the ticket. Also if the car spits fireballs, that would give the cop reason to suspect a catless car.

Subarus have three cats (STi has only two, with the uppipe being catless from the factory). Typically when you swap a downpipe on a Subaru, you eliminate one cat (some ppl go for two, but either way one is usually eliminated). While you can still pass emissions with one cat (unless your running a bigger turbo, in that case you would probably need to retune ur ECU to lean the heck out of the car to get it to pass), you're still missing two other ones...and if the cop knows that you're done for.

 

uh, legally, they dont even have to pop the hood. the make the car sit at idle for 3 minutes, put a temp reader behind the exhaust tip and if it reads over 300 degrees F, then u getta ticket for no cat. if you can take it to the dealer and prove that it had a faulty cat on at the time of the ticket, you can get off with a fix it ticket.
