yea the pistol is no good now, not the worst weapon, but it's down there

 

the pistol was defintally way over powered in the first one, i think they've done a pretty good job as far as leveling the playing field in regards to weapons. From the limited multiplayer ive had time for, it really seems like it's just a matter of personal preference. you can have a slower rate of fire and do a higher amount of damage (like with the alien carbine or the battle rifle), or you can dual weild weaker weapons (smg, plasma pistol thingies) and throw down range a massage amount of fire.

:shrug: im sure after playing it a bit more i'll develope a personal preference

It is rediculous if you get someone really good with that sword. It actually had about as much range as the shotgun. (effectively that is)
