The cosra is a good exhaust but a bit pricy. You can never go wrong with a cutout. I put a flowtech cutout on the ex fiancees Z/28 and with that and the stock exhaust the car sounded great. Are you looking for power gains, or exhaust improvement?

Keep your stock cat-back and get an electric cut-out. My buddy Eric has a set of two on his 2002 SS and it's so fricken cool! The car cruises like stock b/c it is stock, then with the flip of a switch it goes from mild to wild! I don't know why he got two, but the advantage of an F-body is that you have a y-pipe and only need one cut-out. I'm seriously considering a set for my car b/c they're that much fun. If you have to get a cat-back the Flowmaster sounds killer and the SLP loudmouth is crazy loud!

You get them and bolt them right up to where the headers bolt to the Y pipe and you by pass the cats. My buddy adam has 2 QMP electric cutouts on his Firehawk and with his headers, you can only imagine. However the optimum place for the F-Body is on the intermediate pipe right before the axle.

BigBake has dual cutouts. That will require a bit more work, and is more easily achieved with aftermarket headers and y-pipe. Plus bypassing the cats with cutouts is extremely LOUD, and isnt very street worthy.

Do yourself a favor, get with someone from the board and ride along with a few different equipped cars. I am sure most of the guys here wont mind letting you ride along. You need to experience the Loudmouth before you shell out the bucks.......alot of people complain that its too loud. Kinda gay if you ask me, I mean damn its called LOUDmouth for a reason.

I would prefer power gains, but I'd also like a nice deep rumble at idle and of course when I get on it. I'd probably just have to hear a few examples in person and decide which is best. I can't say for sure if the Loudmouth will be too loud, the website with exhaust sounds didn't seem too loud. It'll be a bit before I go get it anyway.

Don't forget a lid then. My old roomate michelle put a lid and a cutout on her 02 WS6 and it ran a 12.87@107 and dynoed 331rwhp in an auto and those were her only mods.

A lid will help, with the smooth bellows, and exhaust. There is also the free ram air mod too. I did that on Nikki's Z/28 and it helped alot.

first thing i did to my V6 camaro was a whisper lid and K&N air filter. i planned on doing the same thing for the Z/28. afterthoughts auto has a package deal with SLP lid, bellows, and all that jazz, wasn't too sure about it, plus having just got the car i'm strapped for the $450 the package costs. definitely getting a lid and filter though. then hopefully in a few months, the exhaust.
