Convert to coil on plug. Then you won't need an external coil, or distributor.

just wondering are you using an MSD box as well? or just a coil.

 

if only we had the resources to...and coils can get expensive from what i thought...but yes, you def have a great solution, and actually i am going to look into that now...

MSD dosen't make a cap for a 97 240 with a KA. already checked that route long time ago. yes, i have a MSD SCI box, and an external coil already, just need the cap now...

 

as matter a fact i just realized i have some info to help you on that. when i get back from the track tonight i will send you the info on how to setup an external coil on your ride.

 

I had msd on my ka-t. It's actually pretty simple to do. The stock distributer "the dizzy" has an internal ignition coil that can be taken out. You will need a soldering gun and solder to do the mod on the internal coil. I dont have a picture on how to do it and it is really hard to explain. If I had a picture of the dizzy I could be more help to you. But yes it can be done.

 

I still have that dizzy. havnt really looked at it. the wiring should still be there for it shouldnt it?
