I would suggest swapping shells like Cole said, or getting a lower sitting aftermarket seat.

I really dont see the need to fill in the sunroof or swap chassis or anything like that at this point. He stated in his first post that he just started doing autoX, so really what he needs to do is just drive the car until he gets better. There are many other things you can do to strenghten the rigidity of your car before doing something as drastic as filling in the sunroof( roll cage, etc.) or swaping your car over to an entirely new one just to get the small benifit of not having a sunroof. If fitting in the car is the problem then either get a lower aftermarket seat, removing some padding from your OEM seat or modify the seat rails. I think doing anything with the sunroof at this stage is just overkill.

Like the others say, aftermarket seats, to if you can find any welding shop... the mufler shop for instance, you could cut your brackets and reweld them into a better shape, they do it for Miatas alot cause the brackets do on of these -\_ but then again, I don't know how much that'll help, you just might be one really tall dude.

the reason i am pondering getting the sunroof filled in at this point in time is because the car is about to get a complete paintjob and i think it would be dumb to do it later. I really have to bend my neck in an uncomfortable fashion to drive with a helmet on so a lower seat and sunroof removal may be necesary im 6'3" and 240's are big on extra headroom i dont like having my seat part of the way reclined to fit comfortably in it.

I was recently thinking about doing the same after doing pungo last month, helmet was hitting the roof(sunroof on a s13 coupe). But as everyone else is saying a lower sitting seat rail would be much better(cheaper/less work). Look into sway bars/strut bars/etc to stiffen up the chassis, I decided in the end id end up missing my sunroof since im used to it now. Plus its always good for re-sale.

I am going to miss my sunroof as well since i open it everytime i get in the car buti neeed another 2 to 4 inches bad. In no way am i doing this to stiffen my chassis that was an idea presented by someone who posted in here my chasis is plenty stiff at the moment and i would not do anything this drastic for that reason i just need some serious headroom.

make it a vert maybe

Well have you looked into different seat rails and seats. It is very possiable that the combo of those two could net you the extra 2-4 inches. When I had my s14 w/ a sunroof i never had problems with my head room.......but i'm also 5'8"

that would be the 2 to 4 inches im needing being 5 inches taller. i dont think new seat rails would get me more then a inch or two maybe i will try that first i just think im going to need ,a little more then that.
