what do i do with a unusable block...
I understand. I was looking to do something with it. I'm lazy and not trying to drive to va beach though. Just put it in a dumpster. I'd clean it up first though. You don't need to put shit with oil in it in the trash.
yeah thats is also considered precious metal. not scrap. copper is 2 dollars and some change right now. but the block isnt copper so it does no good. i take at least 2-3 dump truck loads of scrap metal to the scrap yard everyweek. weighing any where from 2 thousand pounds to 8 thousand pounds. the only way that it is worth it if you have a big enough truck. i also haul copper,brass and aluminum. you will spend 5 times the money in gas hauling a block there.
a few places around here, one in Stuart, one in Pulaski mainly. prices have dropped in the last week, but still better than most of this year.

we haul about 4 ton a month, so it is worthwhile to us the way we do it. but, it all depends on the sorting and how clean it is.
