I64 Southbound killing field
while it is unfortunate for that to happen to a fellow rider, you cant always blame the "cagers" when you have us morons out on 64 going 150+ .. cars cut me off when im going the speed limit, its not always "there"fault... it is crazy though, i took my bike out for the first time in weeks today, just around the block and parked it...Too much harrassment going on and I just feel a 564 incident happening soon. Rather not deal with the trouble..I am going this weekend though damnit ! If anyone wants to meet up , im in newport news, im down for riding anywwhere as long as ur not an idiot
ride with the high beam on, i havent had any "cager" problems so far.. but then again i ride like everyone wants to hit me. i stay in the left lane on the interstate (only on it if im late or something) and when i pass cars i make sure i have room and i speed up alot passing them..

I do the same thing pass cars quick--you really have to drive offensively around here or you'll get run down quick. No need to be scared, just aware of your surroundings and quick reactions. I've only had 1 conflict with another car since I've been riding here for 7 years.
I dismounted my bike at a red light today because I had to lock up my brakes and almost run off the road to prevent going over top or through the back of a Honda Element today here in Roanoke.. He looked right at me, and pulled out in front of me, not even maybe 20-25 feet away.. I'm absolutely certain he saw me. I get around another car in the left lane to get up next to this asshole and saw that he had his window cracked so I yelled something to the effect of "WHAT THE FUCK? Did you not fucking see me? You nearly killed me!" and he flipped me the bird... Ohhhh boy, that lit a fuse. You're going to pull a stupid stunt almost causing injury to me and damage to my property, and you're going to have the nerve to flip ME off when I approach you about it? Nice. Traffic was probably flowing around 40-45mph with everyone trying to get to work or back from lunch or whatever.. We get to a red light finally, and I made sure to be next to him. Put the kickstand down, hopped off the bike, and approached his window. He rolled it down just far enough so that I couldn't stick my arm or hand in the window, and calmly says "you changed lanes behind me! not my fault" WHAAAAT? I maintained my lane all the way down the road until he pulled out in front of me. I don't even know what all I said to him at that point but I'm glad for the both of us that I couldn't stick my arm in the window. I don't know which switch he flipped on me, but I was furious. I almost feel like we shouldn't have to ride so defensively in fear of being ran over by someone on a cell phone, someone putting their makeup on, or someone who is just oblivious to the rest of the world going on around them. Quite frankly, I'm almost ashamed of how I responded to this incident.. Normally when that happens (often), I just sort of shrug it off, or sometimes even get up next to them and give them an angry glare or a "Watch where you're going next time!" ....but this guy, I was ready to pound on. I was just trying to get my bike to my buddies house after we got our new tires on. Christ!
Anyway, yes, people are oblivious to the world when they're in the drivers seat. Unfortunately that makes it extremely dangerous to drive... and especially to ride!

i wonder if they were doing "controlled" wheelies?
*edit*
If not I pray for them and hope that they make a full recovery.

on the way to work this morning on the busa i nearly had a minivan run me over. to avoid the accident, i downshifted and pinned the throttle bringing the front wheel up about 2 feet and hitting easily over 100mph. about 30 sec later an unmarked cop pulls up and paces me and i look over point back @ the mini van shake my head and shrug. needless to say he looks at me shakes his head in understanding and keeps rolling. fucking va drivers...
I had a dump truck decide to change lanes onto me while I was at the base of the high rise bridge. Gotta thank God for getting me out of that one. I downshifted and squeezed in front of the dump truck with little room to spare from hitting the concrete wall on the bridge. Defanitely gave me a reminder on how vulnerable we are.
