CF hood
Well considering that mustang hood is SMC I'm not sure how much weight you'd be saving... if you can tell us how much weight it cuts then we can give you a more educated opinion.
For the C5 corvette the CF hood saves like 8/10 pounds only... it's really only worth it if you're getting a hood w/ a different design.
Oh and all 2003 vettes are 50th anniversary cars... however there is a special anniversary red vert and coupe that you can get with tan interior and light champagne wheels.
The Z06 you're thinking of is the '04 Z-16 lemans commemorative edition. It has a CF hood. GM did this as it is the first mass produced CF body panel they've done. Many say they were practicing for the new Z06. THe hood is fully painted and then stickers are put on it... the CF doesn't actually show though, it's a stupid sticker.

You're right about the Z-16... that's what I was thinking of. I thought those where the 50th anniversary Z06s (once again showing how little I know about Z06s
). So the hoods on these cars aren't completely carbon fiber? That's gay.
No they are carbon fiber... but the bit you see "through" isn't actually showing through. The Z-16 cf hood is painted blue, then the stickers are put one one of which is a CF looking sticker.

Like someone already said, money better spent elsewhere.
