I like the CA18, I just prefer the SR20DET, mostly because I already have one, but I kept it because of the aftermarket support.

If you know where to look youll find the aftermarket support isnt as bad as one would think. not half as plentiful as the SR, but a decent showing for an engine that is at best 15 years old.

True. The car was fun. He bought it for 450 bucks, bought a clutchmasters stage 2 for it. Then we tied the wastegate shut, put a boost gauge in and watched it spike 22, and fall off to about 18 around redline.

He beat alot of people with it, mainly Honda's, and it lasted for about 3 months. It was worse than a diesel, with the smoke. HAhahah

Those turbos aren't efficient past 14, maybe 15psi.

I guess it fun to ruin a perfectly good engine out of sheer stupidity.

Yes, It was. I liked that car, it was in bad condition though, but Bitchin Betty still worked.

seems like the ca18det is a decent motor. i havent seen many around here. mainly sr's. i do agree tho, sr20's are like b16 civics now-a-days.
Except the SR makes way more power stock than a B16. Actually, the SR makes more power than any B-series motors do stock.

Plus, it costs less.

Oh yeah:
