Ok see now... this is what gets to me about the "aggressive fitment" trend...
See how much room there is on the inside of the fender between the wheel and the suspension components? He could run a wider wheel with a higher offset that maintains the same look from the outside, but would have more wheel/tire on the ground. Why doesn't anybody do this? It looks dumb to me when the wheel/tire sticks out the side of the car, but then from the rear you can see that it's a relatively narrow tire.
Put an 11" wide, +55 or so offset wheel with a 285 tire on that car. THAT would be "dope".

^^ ahhh. that sir is a great point. just like how my wheels are 8" wide and look like donky ass from the back. unfort. i could only get them in 8" and i bet alot of people have the same problem finding the wheels they want in a wide and perfect offset.
thats on that car. I know on my car the front coilover rubs the wheel and thats a 9.5 with a +15 offset. so i need a lower offset witch will push my wheel out further. just depends on the car .
If I ever do custom wheels again, they'll be somewhere around the specs that I posted. Maybe I need to call CCW.
same problem i had with the R2k's they were so close to hitting the coilover. yet they were poking still. lol
That car was just an example. The same could be said of any car though, just using different widths and offsets. it just bothers me when I see a car who's wheels stick out a lot farther than stock, but the tires are actually more narrow. You should keep the inner edge of the wheel near stock, but push the outside out by running wide wheels and appropriate offsets.
My last wheels were 10.5" wide with a 275 tire. With stock camber and stock fenders, it would tuck wheel without rubbing... and that was on a taller (19") wheel/tire combo. With some fender work and a tiny bit of camber, 285s on an 11 would be no problem.
now i'm not much of an engineer nor do i understand suspension mechanics that well. but even if they are more narrow but the are wider, or stick out further, would it be more stable in turns?
