Most people are put off because they are used to riding on at least 180/120 combination where on my 500 and I think it holds true for a 250 you are riding on a 140/100 combination or a 130/100 combination. The narrow tires make it feel like the bike falls but it really doesn't.

I've been looking for a good deal on a Ninja on CL just to have a fun zip around town bike. Some good deals in cold weather. I found one about an hour south of me that needs about $200 worth of work to be great and it's selling for only $800. So tempting.

Correct, sitting so straight up, smaller tires, plus the whole weight NOTHING thing makes it different than a regular sports bike.

I went as big as possible in the rear to get some more surface area when leaning and it would slip before the pegs even scraped

I'll get it all figured out for the track though. I'm thinking a nyan cat them.

The bike wasn't built to have that wide of a tire on it. Putting wider rubber on it makes it handle worse in my opinion. You also have to learn to feel that bike out. If you have never ridden then it feels brilliant, if you have been riding modern 600's or better then you will have a hard time adjusting.

I used to live in 757, my 500 and I were legendary. I just visited some people down there and they were still talking about how I used to walk them all over Pungo and Suffolk.

Now I live back in the 703 (NOVA) If you ever want advice on those bikes though or want to do a track day hit me up.

Well, I mean I started on that bike and rode it around for like 3 years so I knew her pretty well. The new tire made it more stable in turns, but quick turns it felt like the back end was losing it no matter what. Could just be a "loose" spring issue. If it was more stiff I should be able to turn it out well.

Yeah man definitely want to start doing track days.

I rode the Ninja after coming off a VFR 800 (which was absolute sex) so I think my opinion was a little skewed lol.

But I do love the little Ninjas and have been wanting one for a while.

I live in VB and work in Norfolk (we're about to move to Portsmouth) so a 250 would be fine for the commute.
