I was about to say the same thing. I have a friend who works for them. He makes more money than the city departments and doesn't do jack.

But he makes less hourly than I do I'll take the extra time off with lots of overtime potential any day.

does anybody know chesapeake's overtime policy?

after I get out of the academy the overtime should be plentiful, do they have a no medic overtime policy meaning only engine or ladder assignments for overtime?

or no?

Basically when you sign up on telestaff, you are agreeing to work on any piece. Unless you're already a higher certification, you will be trained to EMT-B, and when you work OT you will be on the medic around 90% of the time. You can work up to 36 hours straight.

Cold calls for the Engine/Ladder should be honored, a lot of times you will get there and they'll try to put you on the box, but if it was a cold call, meaning you didn't sign up and telestaff just called you, you shouldn't have to ride it.
