Can I just take the bike to a dealership and say hey, check this shit over plz. ?

 

Ask him for receipts. Make sure it idles smooth and will idle without the choke on. Look in the gas tank for any major rust. Check the fuel filter for any gunk. Ethanol in gas nowadays is notorious for eating the glue that holds the emgo fuel filters together causing the carbs to get clogged with glue residue. Check the 3 rectifier wires and the wires comes off the starter relay for burn/melting marks. Located on the right side behind the cover. Make sure second gear is functional. Make sure there are not any decel or high speed front end wobbling. Most of these problems are less common on the 750's and more common on the 1100's. Sabres are great bikes (magna's are better)

 

anyone ever dealt with shipping a motorcycle? I'm on the look out for a specific bike... and odds are I'm going to have to ship it.

thought about it, but I doubt I'll have the time to fly out and drive back unless I find one close... and if I do find one close then I'd just use my dad's trailer. trying to get ahold of a guy now about one but it's located in Boise, ID.

lol i'm looking for a ducati sport 1000. been searching ducati.ms, cycle trader, craigslist, and ebay. there's one on ebay now but out of my price range, and one just went up on craiglist yesterday.

i realize it's going to be hard to find, and on the pricey side. i've already been advised by a friend not to get one for my first street bike, but i know what i'm getting myself into lol.

 

no offense but this blows my mind. even moreso than African Child's Ducati still being functional.

Ducati's are great bikes if you like to work on bikes (and subsequently like to wrench more than you ride.)
In a word, they are: Italian.

lol I knew I had it coming. I've been riding dirtbikes my whole life, and I understand there's a big difference between riding off road and on, but I'd like to think I'm pretty comfortable on a bike.

I'll just keep looking at other options... forget I said anything.

 

don't get me wrong. they're sexy as fuck but are temperamental and will not hesitate to leave you stranded on the side of the highway, just like a woman.
