Just got back from Rolling Thunder

 

how was it? I decided to skip it this year in lieu of some time with the gf.
I spent all weekend taking the MSF basic course. perfect score on both parts and now I have to call my insurance company to get a sweet discount.

I tell you what though... if I had to do it again... I'd have used my goldwing.
They put me on an eliminator. That shit was TINY. Elbows, say hello to your new friend knees.
Surprisingly though I was able to shave a good bit off the footpegs and kickstand without them yelling at me.

 

Got out and hit the mountain for the first time this season yesterday. Such a nice day. Was a great ride until my buddy biffed it on a long sweeper on the wv side. Luckily he was wearing proper gear and just got a couple scrapes. Frame sliders saved his bike for the most part too. No serious damage. This is the second time in my year and a half of riding that someone has lost it on a turn in front of me :/

 

so what do you do when they go down? I mean what's your exit strategy.
I'm always too afraid that I'll look down at them so I don't accidentally run them over. however we all know that you go where you look

 

You just keep riding your line, they are gonna slide out of your way.

 

Pretty sure I saw you, I didn't ride but I was about 400 feet down from the harley dealer ship in the median with my girlfriend watching the parade.

 

Yea it was pretty legit, that ladder truck used in the parade was my Ladder Truck at my Firestation.. I love that thing
