Default The death of a renowned vintage BMW...

Any e28 enthusiast or anyone who lives low is saddened by this event. Mike's e28 (nicknamed Rusty) caught fire in his garage. His car has been featured in multiple issues of Performance BMW and many many forums including VW Vortex, Mye28, stanceworks, etc. Many of you have seen his car either in person or somewhere here on the interwebz.

Glad he is ok though.

I have met Mike in person at a vintage BMW show, and I will say he is a great fellow and he will build another BMW, I am sure. May the spirit of Rusty live forever.

thank god. that car was trash. someone did him (the owner), and more importantly, everyone who has seen that car, a huge favor

e: read the link, still glad the car is gone. maybe the owner will get some sense and not try to re-create that rust bucket

I didn't think the car was the end all be all or anything or cared for the styling very much but I couldn't imagine just standing by watching a car i had poured a ton of time and money into not to mention all of my tools/spare parts/garage itself just go up in flames without being able to do anything about it. I feel bad for the guy, regardless of his taste as far as cars.

same that does suck. Wonder if home owner's/renter's insurance covers the damage in this particular situation.
