Cycle whore thread
You are very indecisive, lol
You are making me jealous. Gratz
It was turning over, but not starting. They ended up opening up the head and block and saw that there was massive, massive carbon build-up just about everywhere. All in all, the valves were all removed and cleaned out along with the rest of the head, the pistons removed and block cleaned up. It got new piston rings, new valve guide seals (I think that's what they were called), a new head gasket, a new cylinder base gasket. It had 12,500ish miles when it failed to start. But from everything I've been told, it was mostly probably a result of shitty gas and possibly some "overly spirited revving". I'm the third owner, so there's no telling what happened in the first 10k miles. It was really strange, because I rode it for 2500 some-odd miles and never had a problem, and then it just stopped starting. I do notice that it's way, way smoother and more quiet since the service.

on average ANY motorcycle is about 6% off from the factory. So... when you change your sprockets... it throws everything even more off.
Most people get about a 10% to 16% off in most bikes after installing a speedo healer with -1 +2 sprockets
Which would be 8 - 12 mph off at 80 mph... but since most are off from factory.. the sprockets only change it by about 8mph.
Do a quick google to see what I mean... you should get a lot of stories and people asking the "how much is my speedo off?" questions.
