Took the battery to Advance and had it tested. They said it's good, just needs a charge? I had already charged it and the bike still wouldn't start, so maybe it is something else. Or maybe the battery doesn't hold a charge?
Not sure where the R/R is located on the 636, but on my bike it's beneath the seat and mounted on the battery box. Generally, they look like a heatsink for a computer (if you happen to know what that is) and should have a plug coming out of it. Check the plug and the wiring and make sure it's not burned or melted. If that's good, then check your stator wiring.
I also forgot to ask, is it cranking up at all and just not starting or everything lit up, just no crank?

He says the battery tests good, and he's already had it charged, plus he gets power, but it won't start. I'm still betting on the recifier or something else. You trying to bet me on his 636?

I'm betting the battery wouldn't hold a charge (even though it "tested good") and that's why it didn't start. That's purely a guess, but that's what I'm going with.
