Congrats on riding on old tires, some of us are smarter than that.
What do you mean by scrubs? Used track day tires?
I've spoken with Michelin reps on numerous occasions and anytime age was brought up in relation to street tires they've always said that a 3 year old tire isn't anything to worry about if you are going to wear it out within the season/year. It was also stated that a 3 year old tire will get harder (out-gas) much faster once it's being used compared to a 1 year tire.
Can you ride on 3-4 year old tires? Sure.
Are they going to disintegrate on you? Of course not.
Will they perform as well as a new tire? No.
The point I was trying to make in my initial post was that if I were buying a 'new' set of tires I would expect them to be relatively new, not 4 years old, and if I received 4 year old tires I'd send them right back.

Yea... because the stock manifold and the mid pip from the engine wouldn't add any back pressure at all...
That is like saying that cutting the exhaust in half on a Civic is gonna make it slower? Ummm no... it wouldn't... it would infact add power.. you cant remove the header and expect to add power as much power.. but in fact it would...
Yes.. your engine needs back pressure.. but it needs a MINIMAL amount of positive back pressure... its crazy to see that drag bikes dont have full exhaust systems I know you are smarter than everybody, but try to understand that these professional drag racers probably know a little more than you do.
The fact is that his stock header and mid pipe is not large enough to eliminate all back pressure... so he would have enough to efficently run the bike and increase power by not having a stock muffler.
Less back pressure would increase top end power, which would be exactly the type of race that would occur in a rolling second gear run.
This is a quick search that i pulled up.. if you want to see more discussions on the subject... i can pull up some more for you. In fact.. I imagine if you pulled up some forums.. you could find that people increased power by removing the muffler and just running the stock header and mid pipe.

please dont argue back if you dont know what your talking about.

FYI: for liability reasons hes not going to tell you otherwise. And secondly, they weant you to come buy another set.
If you read my post i did say basically, for the majority of us, the little lost catalyst wont even be noticeable.
same concept as takeoffs.
But since youre a AMA racer its obviously not good enough for you.
