Anyone have experience with ODU's BSME/MSME program?
If I could get a job at Northrop after I graduate then I'm set. My parents said it would be no problem for me to work at Northrop and live at home. All I have to do is pay rent and help around the house. If you can get that firm setup then you should be doing very well. Everyone cares about the environment so now people want better products.

Yeah, the process is a alot harder for ME's. What sucks is the kids that do get in and got that good old 3.8 or 4.0 GPA stll suck at there job. I dont have the super high GPA but I do have the design smarts and I can easily bust out some calculations if there is any need.
What if one to get a MEME, how would they look at that? I know there would be a salary bump and replaces 2 years of exp, but I'm wondering if it open doors for more research type positions? I'm thinking about doing a 1-2 class per sem 4 year plan heh.
No salary bump for a graduate degree. You're just look at more highly when promotion time comes around. To become a supervisor now, its a really good idea to have one.
^ on an employment information packet i got from HR this week, it says E1s with BS degree's base pay is $58k, and MS degree holders base pay is $64k.
it was 57 last year was it not? I think you need to keep in mind of dollar inflation.. and hope your annual raises were adjusted to it heh.
i asked about that also. Siyani in HR said the difference in percentage would be adjusted. Do you know someone who never got compensation for a MS degree?

that is weird. One of them is wrong obviously lol.
The HR guy I was talking to sounded like he knew how it all worked. The reason I say that is because I asked if I got my MS in a few years, if my salary would be increased by $6k/yr (64k-58k=6k). He told me it is adjusted by the difference in percentage of whatever the rate is then, and my years would be accounted for as well.
Maybe what you were told is pertaining to MS ENMA specifically? I dont know.
