Default D16Y8 Help

Here is the problem when driving and you get to a light it shuts off now it has a motor knock and the oil light is on just happend to day out of no where. Could it be the oil pump causing this if you any ideas let me know thanks.

idk about the light but those y8 blocks have problems with rod knocks all over the place

Yeah the y7 and y8s are none to spin rod bearings because they tend to have oil pressure problems do 2 there restrictive oilpumps and weak cranks.... So yeah you most likey have a spun rod bearing.

damn! this just happened to me last week too! with a y8. so im thinking about just throwing a cheap d15b in there. (the y8's are expensive as shit to replace. you can get a b-series full swap for the same price as just a y8 motor)

yea man. as simple as the y8 is, i got a quote on one from woodfin honda (honda junkyard) for a motor with just over 100,000 miles, and they said $1200, with no warrenty and i would have had to pick it up. im keeping my motor and re-building it for boost, while putting a shit motor in there just to get to work.
