They weighed in at aroudn 1,600lbs and made 600hp. One went over 188mph in 1937 albert with some different bodywork. They were powered by supercharged V8s.
A later V12 version set a land speed record at 268mph. Again with the re-worked bodywork.
It's considered to be one of the most powerful GP cars until the mid/late Can-Am cars of the 1960s.
I'm not saying it's going to beat a modern race car, but it would show the tail lights to a lot of modern road cars.
