Why so concerned with a serial number? I don't see why it makes a difference. I have the same ipod for sale and if anyone asked me for the serial number I would be a little skeptical... Just sayin...

You can check online to see how old it is, and if it still falls under warranty I believe. Since its an Ipod, it WILL fuck up. He prob wants an idea of how long his $140 investment will be worth a shit.

Basically this..

Can't really do much with an iPod serial number other than verify warrantee anyways.
