Redoing my ws6 trans am.
well i got some more done on the car.
i was expecting the coil overs to take no more than and hour and a half. but jesus the bolt that holds the top hat on the stock stuffis a son of a bitch to get off. that held up the progress for hours.
heres the QA1's for the front

taking out the old strut assembly was a breeze.

here came the front parts. the electric impact wouldnt get it. so i ran up to work real quick and tried the air impact, but got nothing. the final solution was to cut the dust boot, apply vice grips real tight to the piston. then cut the threaded shaft so the nut doesnt have to turn so far and lubed it and worked the impact for awhile. it was a huge relief when they finally broke loose.

closing the vice grip with my foot because it was so tight

WOOOO HOOO it finnaly broke loose and flew through the drive way

assembly time

the a-arms collect dirt in the bushing holes. so i scrapped all the rust out and cleaned them up and spray painted them. then the bushings and the arms where greased up real good to help prevent further rusting.

and cleaned up the rust on the strut tower and painted it.

and finally installed the QA1 rear adjustable shocks. this took all of 30 minuets

and finally got the brake booster and master cylinder in. and wrapped up the ABS delete and line lock

it shot a good 3 feet away from us. the vise grip was used to hold the piston in the shock still. the bolt that needed to be taken off was attached to it. so while trying to loosen the bolt the piston would spin with it. and the vice grip got wedged inbetween the two. so my only guess would be that it helped from them really flying away.

They really don't fly that far. I had mine in the front yard when I did it and they seperated maybe 3 feet. I was actually kinda disappointed.
